Description/Blazon

SHIELD

Azure, two piles in point, one from dexter and one from sinister Argent, overall a ship's wheel Gules bearing a mullet Or; an orle wavy Celeste.


MOTTO

A scroll Argent fimbriated Gules doubled and inscribed "HONOR and RESPECT" Azure above the shield and a like scroll below the shield inscribed "DEVOTION TO DUTY".


SUPPORTERS

Between two fasces saltirewise a Naval officer's sword point down Proper.


SEAL

The coat of arms as blazoned in full color on a White disc enclosed by a Dark Blue border edged on the outside with a Gold rope and inscribed "U.S. COAST GUARD PACIFIC AREA" in Gold letters.

Symbolism

SHIELD

Red, blue and white are the colors traditionally used by the Coast Guard; gold is emblematic of honor and high achievement while red denotes valor and zeal.The points of the central star highlight the organization's five Strategic Goals: Safety, Protection of Natural Resources, Mobility, Maritime Security and National Defense.The star, combined with the ship's wheel, symbolizes leadership, mobilization planning and disaster response from the Pacific Area Command.The light blue wavy border alludes to the Pacific Ocean and its islands.The white piles suggest beams of light or searchlights and underscore the organization's search and rescue mission.


SUPPORTERS

The sword and fasces represent the operational readiness and law enforcement of the Coast Guard Pacific Area.
